Approach to Therapy
Samantha takes a systemic approach to therapy that centers on insight and connection. One of her goals when working with clients is helping to guide them from a place of confusion and distress to a place of deeper awareness and self-understanding. Samantha believes that we often get caught in the cyclical nature of our problems and struggle to find a way out. In her therapy room, Samantha employs a solutions-focused lens to these cycles and offers alternatives to break their maladaptive patterns. Samantha has experience with residential care for Mood/Anxiety Disorders and Eating Disorders, as well as intensive outpatient programs for Substance Use Disorders. While she specializes in marital/relational issues as a part of Marriage and Family Therapy, her clinical interests also include working with women's issues, grief, eating disorders/body image, trauma/PTSD, and life transitions. She is completing her degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northwestern University, where she continues to feed her deep love of learning.
