Update Concerning Therapy During Social Distancing
Dear Valued Clients,
If you and the people around you are feeling uneasy, worried and/or anxious about how our lives are being impacted by COVID-19, you are not alone. It’s a brand-new experience for all of us. Worry, fear and anxiety are very understandable feelings to have in this context. Allow yourself to be patient with yourself and with those around you. We are all in this together and we will all benefit from one another’s available patience and grace, both giving and receiving.
We want you to know that we will continue to be your therapists while we all adjust to this.
For now, we won’t be able to hold sessions at our office face-to-face. We will be conducting all sessions using HIPAA compliant tele-therapy via Simple Practice.
BCBS has announced that it has enhanced its Telehealth coverage (BCBS Press Release). Please check with BCBS PPO to confirm that your policy covers telemedicine/telehealth and how it is covered. If your plan is out of network or self-pay, this is not applicable, unless your out-of-network benefit covers a portion of therapy. My plan is to continue to submit a claim on your behalf for each session we have, and our regular agreement (Lakeview Therapy Group bills your policy for $150, you pay for copays, co-insurance, and deductibles if that applies) will stand. If your policy does not cover telemedicine, we will discuss payment options.
Please be safe and, as always, good reliable information is the key. Below are some resources:
